| DOOF DOOF III | |
| DOOF DOOF was back and better than ever on Saturday 25th July living up to all expectations as this event continues to build a reputation as the night on the social calendar you can not afford to miss. This year’s theme was TIGHT & BRIGHT and it delivered some amazing outfits with best on ground honours going to TA’s gay icon Tim Stobart. A special thanks to our 3 DJ’s DJ MC Mo, Chubs and Matty Simco for their unbelievable beats. Many thanks also to Brett Taylor for providing and setting up all stage, lighting an sound equipment. The night was a great success with everyone enjoying a solid night of dancing as we now look forward to Doof Doof IV next year. View category |
| Ta's Idol | |
The Trinity Aquinas Idol Night was held on the 27th of June at the Billy Grayden Oprah House. The event was billed was one of the "minor" functions for the year, but when the finals had big names such as Daniel Spencer, James Green, and Dumper Dawson, it never really had much chance of being a minor function.
In all approximately 100 people got around it and saw in Daniel Spencer as the TA's Idol for 2009, his rendition of The Scientist by Coldplay brought the house down and easily had the least amount of microphone feedback added into the song.
The only competition was colt, James Green, who Daniel only beat by a solitairy vote. The rest of the finalists barely offered a yelp and two of them were even beaten by Simon Franich. The man affectionately known as Bombsy didnt even sing on the night but managed to sneak into 4th place with 4 votes and in the end, deservedly beat Mark "Boozy" Bossong and Andrew "Trooper" Dawes, whose cover of Jet's 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl', was so bad, that everyones ears needed to be douched afterwards to clear them of the filth that the song left...
The judges performed their role with flying colours, Nick Jurin and the 'online president' George Nichols gave some scathing yet accurate critques of the somewaht mediocre finalists and Maryka managed to never give an opinion, good nor bad of the performance. The night was abley hosted by Chris Mather, whose quick wit and sassy dress sense carried the night during its plateau's. Many thanks to the bar staff, Con, Bombsy, Paul Bradley and anyone else who assissted with the distribution of drinks.
Good from all you blokes View category |
| TA's Prom Night | |
Saturday 30th May marked the annual cocktail party for TA’s. As the biggest event on the social calendar, this year’s theme was PROM NIGHT and was well supported by the general membership as the club experienced record numbers. The theme was embraced with some stunning as well as not so stunning outfits, some classic portrait prom photos and a romantic slow dance between Cam Venables (Prom King) and Tracy Patterson (Prom Queen). A great night was had by all and we look forward to seeing everyone at the next social event TA’s IDOL on the 10th June. View category |
